More About The Laundry

Hey friends, welcome! Thanks for checking out our website, my name is Addie King, my mom Heidi and I are the proud owners of The Laundry Refillery. We are from the small town of Black Mountain NC, located in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains. We have worked hard to bring our community an eco-friendly store for all of their daily or weekly needs. Our goal has been to create a beautiful and comfortable space where people can come and learn and practice how to make our earth a little bit happier. We were blessed with the opportunity to make this dream come to life, and were very excited to share it with you guys. This has already been such an incredible experience especially getting to do it with my best friend. We hope to bring joy, love, and new excitement to our special town and we are so grateful for each of you, who help bring this vision to life.

Heidi

Hi!  I'm Heidi.  I'm thrilled to be here and share a bit of our story and vision.  I've been a nature lover since day one and spent my childhood outside and exploring the mountains of NC.  I got a degree in Environmental Studies before finding my way to building and interior design.  Both are loves of mine!  After raising children and working as an entrepreneur in this community, I was thrilled to hear of my daughters ideas on a new, but truly old, concept of a "refillery."  I can't imagine a more fitting business for us to venture in to together!  We hope to bring beauty and community in to sustainable practices and wholesome living!  We can't wait to welcome you in!

Addie

Hello I'm Addie, and I wanted to tell you guys a little more about myself, for you to maybe get a better grasp of the people behind the counter. I'm 19 years old and I graduated from high school in 2022. I've known for a long time that I wasn't planning on going the tradition route out of high school, so the fall after I graduated I spent some time in Mexico doing mission work, before giving college a chance. Over the course of that year I grew and learned a lot but still felt as though college wasn't for me during this time. When I came home for summer, my family and I took a trip to Scotland and Ireland and that is where the idea of starting a refillery was born. I fell in love with the concept and told my mom that one day I would love to create one at home. Little did I know that day would come a lot sooner than I expected. When we got back I spent the next 5 months working and saving up money to hopefully travel some more, but when the opportunity arose for us to rent the building we are in now, my entire direction changed. We then officially decided that we wanted to open up our own refillery. After months of hard work we are finally at the point to share the space we have created with you guys. Words cannot express my gratitude for this opportunity and ability to help show people the beauty and simplicity of practicing zero waste.
